wow, yesterday was one crazy, busy, but highly entertaining day for mac and me. we were up at 7:17am-i aimed and even set my alarm for 6:35am but i went back to bed after getting up to turn off the alarm. some cleaning was done, mac and i ate breakfast (cheerios for mac & coffee for me) then mac's pal olivia came at around 8:15am. it was a rocky start with her here...she not used to being here and without her parent's was very stand off-ish with mac. she only wanted to be held by me, didn't want to get on the floor and play or anything. she would cry at any sound mac made which in turn made mac cry and i ended up with two crying babies. i suppose some people would get annoyed and frustrated by that but i found it to be rather funny, i suppose because i expected it to happen, and well, it just was! but, i tried to be calming to both babies and to divide my attention equally, which seemed to work. naptime in the morning went alright...it was a little rough going in the beginning but soon both babies were tired enough from crying all morning that olivia was next to the wall being bottle-fed and mac was between her and i while being nursed to sleep. olivia was the first to go down and soon after mac followed. they both slept for at least an hour with mac sleeping a bit longer. upon waking up for both of them, the rest of the day was fun! olivia felt more comfortable in her new surroundings and we ate lunch, played, went for a walk during naptime #2, took a bath after lunch, and soon olivia's daddy came to get her. then it was a race against time for mac and i to get to a bank branch that was on the far northwest side of town from the southwest side of town. we left at 5:00pm exactly and arrived at the bank at 5:27pm with just 3 minutes to spare before the bank closed for the day. After that we went straight to the BioPark to hear tio play in a band at the last summer nights music festival. we had a blast!! mac and i danced nearly the entire time together until nearly the end of the show mac got so tired we had to come back to our place in the grass and nino took mac and put him to sleep in her arms while i cooled down on the blanket. we had so much fun yesterday that when i had to transition mac three times from into stroller, to into car, to out of car, he barely complained at all! once we got home mac went to bed right away and i stayed up to have a little me time before going to sleep as well.
today is the next chapter in olivia coming over for the day! hopefully things will run as smoothly as they did the day before! olivia's mommy told me about a woman, one of her parents (olivia's mommy is a kindergarten teacher) who's daytime daycare for her 2 month old just fell through yesterday, on the first day of school and she was asking her who she had to care for olivia today. so olivia's mommy was telling me about this lady who is looking for daycare only it would be every day of the week from like 7:30am to 5:00pm. and, it's a 2 month old. i have given it a lot of thought and thought maybe i could help this woman out until school starts for me. at least that way, she could find another source of childcare from monday until either my first day of classes or a couple days prior...i'll have to see, and i'll have to see how much she is willing to pay me. i'm still goig to have to think about it...but i think it's possible for me to do it for her and help her out at least until school begins for me. there is no way i can do it during school, with 5 classes and a near 12 month old!
