birthdays

yesterday, mac and i attended a birthday party for one of his friends, Gabriel. it was a lot of fun, and mac was very popular among the guests! one of mac's favorite things to do there was to strut his stuff and walk around the patio table and chairs, and around everyone sitting in them for all to see this lil tiny boy walking around so young, and well! there was an older woman there who was just absolutely in love with him. every chance she got she'd tell people how there's this little boy who can walk so well at 11 months old! at one point she even held mac and walked around with him telling everyone he was her own! haha!! soon after mac and i were there, olivia and her parents showed up and mac & olivia were excited to see one another. we were there for about three and a half hours before we decided we'd probably better get goin because mac was very tired. oh, they also had a pinata there and we set mac down to try and hit it but instead all he wanted to do was walk off with the bat! which he did! it was a little boys Cubs bat so i can see why he wanted it! haha!! At any rate, we had loads of fun, and i've got ideas for mac's upcoming 1st birthday party!

well, this morning has been rather low key so far. mac has had a lot of excitement these past three days so today is just a time to hang out. this afternoon we are going to go hang out with girl and boy cousins at civic plaza while watching tia dance in her flamenco performance. just about 20min ago, mr. mac had a bit of an accident. i was in the bathroom trying to unclog the toilet and mac came cruising in and must have tripped behind me but all i saw was a boy flying face first who tried to catch himself on the toilet but was too low so instead he banged his head on the toilet seat and quickly fell to the ground. he cried for about 3 minutes just prior to me nursing him to feel better. i thought he had banged his forehead but as it turned out, he banged just above his eye on his left eyebrow. poor kiddo...but he's a strong boy and only nursed for about 5 minutes where upon returning to being a playful, mobile lil man.
